Meaning

Have a lucky opportunity or relief from difficulty.

When to Use

When someone finally has good luck after a period of problems. Most often used in the negative with “can’t.”

Examples
After weeks of rejections, I finally caught a break and got a job interview.
Every time I buy stock, the market falls. I can’t seem to catch a break.
