01That's a stretch
Used to say that a claim, comparison, or conclusion seems exaggerated or hard to believe.
A: I think if we just stayed positive, the whole project would have gone better. B: That's a bit of a stretch — we had real budget problems that attitude couldn't fix.
02I can't wrap my head around it
To be unable to fully understand or make sense of something, especially something complex or surprising.
I've read the manual three times and I still can't wrap my head around how this software is supposed to work.
03It went south pretty quickly
A situation that deteriorated, failed, or became problematic in a short amount of time.
A: How did the meeting go? B: Not great. Things went south pretty quickly once they saw the numbers.
04You're not wrong
An understated way of agreeing with someone, often implying the point is valid but you're not fully committing to it.
A: This city is way too expensive to live in anymore. B: You're not wrong. I've been thinking about moving for a while now.
05Pull it off
To successfully accomplish something that seemed difficult, unlikely, or impressive.
Nobody thought she could organize the entire event on her own, but somehow she pulled it off.
06It's not a big deal
Used to say that something is less serious or important than it might appear, often to reassure someone.
A: I'm so sorry I forgot to send that email. B: Honestly, it's not a big deal — we still have time to sort it out.
