Paradigm Shift

  1. A paradigm is a shared way of understanding how things work and why outcomes happen.
  2. When people reject an old perspective because of new evidence or beliefs, it is called a paradigm shift.
  3. One major shift occurred when radio changed how people received news and entertainment.
  4. Before radio, distance meant isolation, and information traveled only as fast as physical objects.
  5. Radio created shared experiences, instant access to news, and a sense of a smaller, connected world.
  6. Another shift happened in medicine when cancer treatment moved away from a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
  7. Genetic research and immunotherapy showed that cancer is many diseases, requiring personalized treatments.
