All Sports tours are tailored to the individual requirements of the schools and clubs we work with and also vary according to sport. The following example cricket tour itinerary however, provides an idea of what a tour could feature:
Day 1 – Arrive at London Heathrow at breakfast time. A representative from Sporta Tours will be in the arrivals hall to meet and assist you. From here, transfer to the Natural History Museum for a three-hour tour by coach and on foot to take in many of London’s top sights, including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge.
Depart for Taunton in the south-west of England after lunch and check-in to a hotel for two nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure with a trip into Taunton, or rest and recover at the hotel before dinner.
Day 2 – After breakfast spend time sightseeing, or you may prefer to head over to Taunton School to make use of their sporting facilities prior to your first match of the tour in the afternoon. Enjoy post-match refreshments with your hosts before returning to the hotel for the evening.
Day 3 – After breakfast check-out and transfer to Gloucestershire. On arrival, check-in to the Royal Hop Pole Hotel in Tewkesbury, a well-known landmark and historic hotel, and enjoy lunch before meeting your next opponents at Tewkesbury School. Spend the evening in your new location.
Day 4 – Breakfast in the hotel before departing for Stratford. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the town, then continue on to Gloucester. Play your third match against King’s School Gloucester followed by post-match refreshments with your hosts. Return to your hotel for the evening.
Day 5 – After breakfast check-out of the hotel and travel north to Alton Towers where you will enjoy a full day at Britain’s biggest theme park. Then check-in to the Alton Towers Hotel at the theme park for your overnight stay. This unique hotel is themed around the incredible explorer Sir Algenon, who has made Alton Towers Hotel his home. There are plenty of fun and quirky features to discover, including his amazing flying ship which crash-landed in the middle of the hotel.
Day 6 – After breakfast check-out and it’s off to Derby through the picturesque countryside of the Peak District. Alternatively, head straight to Repton School for the next fixture. After the game, continue on to Nottingham, well known for its tales of Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest. Stay here for a night within a local hotel.
Day 7 – After breakfast enjoy some free time before your next match against Trent College in Nottingham. In the evening, enjoy a tour prize-giving ceremony before departing the next day.
Day 8 – After breakfast check-out of the hotel and transfer to London for a tour of Lord’s cricket ground. Following the tour, continue to Heathrow Airport for your return flight.
