The Lion and the Mouse

  1. A lion once caught a mouse and was going to eat him as a snack.
  2. The mouse begged the lion to set him free and promised that someday he would repay him.
  3. The lion was amused that the mouse thought he could help a big lion, so he let him go.
  4. Later, the lion got caught in a hunter's trap, and was tied to the tree.
  5. The mouse heard the lion's roar so he hurried to the lion's rescue.
  6. He used his tiny teeth to gnaw through the rope and set the lion free.
  7. "You see," said the mouse, "even a small mouse can help a lion."
  8. The moral of the story is to be kind to others, you never know when you'll need them.
