James races the clock

  1. James was in a hurry to catch the bus for work, but he missed it.
  2. He didn't have time to hail a taxi or order a ride.
  3. He saw a bike rental station nearby, rented a bike, and rode as fast as he could.
  4. When he was only one traffic light away from work, a woman stepped into the crosswalk.
  5. He swerved to miss the woman, and crashed into a coffee stand.
  6. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
  7. His boss happened to be at the stand, and offered to buy him a coffee.
