Amelia and Thomas are set up on a blind date. It plays out like a rom-com with things going from bad to worse. In the end, "All's well that ends well."
Okay, Mia, let's talk about the article โ a classic "blind date at an Italian joint" setup. Sarah, the co-worker, plays Cupid.
Oh, the "office Cupid." Dangerous game. I once let a co-worker set me up, but that's another story for another time.
Except for being nervous, everything seemed normal โ until the "Spaghetti Incident." A server trips, and Amelia gets a side of spaghetti sauce on her blouse.
Right, and Amelia plays it cool โ total pro. But Thomas? He gets heated. He's about to lecture the waiter. Honestly, Jack, if a guy starts a scene with service staff on date one, that's a massive red flag.
Well, I mean, I think most guys would feel like they have to do something โ after all, his date's blouse is ruined, and she's been humiliated. But anyway, Amelia goes to the bathroom to clean up, comes back, ... and Thomas is gone! The server says he literally ran out.
The "dine and dash"! I would have been furious, ... sitting there with a stained blouse and a ghosted seat. I certainly wouldn't be sticking around.
Right? She thinks he scammed her for a free meal! But Amelia holds out hope and sticks around for just a few minutes longer. And sure enough, Thomas walks back in, wearing a completely different outfit.
Amelia was quite perplexed, to say the least.
Apparently, the same server spilled three glasses of wine on Thomas, and he lost his balance and sat back onto his own plate. So he decided to do a speed-run to a clothing store next door.
That sounds like a scene straight from a rom-com. So Thomas hadn't bailed on Amelia after all; he was just covered in mashed potatoes and gravy!
It's the "all's well that ends well" moment. They both just end up laughing at the whole situation.
That's actually really sweet. The fact that he rushed to buy a whole new outfit just to finish the date. That's a keeper.
They ended up leaving hand-in-hand.
Good move. Get out of that restaurant before the roof falls in.
Okay folks, that's a wrap on this "disaster turned dream-date"! Tune in next week for our look at the new vegan fashion trend โ yep, ... you heard me correctly, "vegan fashion"!
