It was Friday, the workday done,

Laura’s weekend had begun,

She grabbed her keys and hit the road,

To the café where laughter flowed.

Dreams of coffee and friendly faces,

Chatting in their favorite places,

She parked her car and reached for her bag,

But her heart dropped fast—her smile turned sad.

Oh no, where did it go?

My cards, my cash, my ID, oh!

From the store to the library,

Where could that little wallet be?

She’s retracin’ steps through memory,

Oh no, where did it go?

At the grocery, she paid with care,

Then dropped off books at the library there,

Bought a latte by the shady trees,

Sat down smiling in the summer breeze.

Now the café’s calling her name,

But this mystery’s a losing game,

No wallet found in lost and found,

Her hope was sinking down.

Oh no, where did it go?

My cards, my cash, my ID, oh!

From the store to the library,

Where could that little wallet be?

She’s retracin’ steps through memory,

Oh no, where did it go?

Then she looked across the park,

Saw something small that sparked her heart,

A squirrel by a tree so tall,

Playing with something — could it be? After all!

Her wallet there in tiny paws,

Laura froze, then smiled because—

She had some nuts, made a little trade,

And her problem slowly...faded away.

Oh yeah, now she knows,

Sometimes life’s a funny show,

You lose your way, then find it too,

In the hands of a squirrel who’s new!

She laughed all night with her café crew, “Oh friends, you won’t believe

what I’ve been through!”

Friday night, the moon above,

A story to tell, a night to love,

With a wallet saved and a heart set free—

Laura’s luck returned with a squirrel and a tree.
