Verbals Are Everywhere

Verbals are quite versatile. They can appear at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence — and sometimes in more than one place at once.

In these examples we have expanded the verbals to include verb+ed (past participle) forms as well as verb+ing. The verbal phrase is highlighted in each sentence — see if you can spot where it sits.
